Wicca Herbs and Oils A beginner guide to working with Magical Herbs and Oils Sophie Welch 9781521243466 Books
Needs editing for writing, spelling and layout; and, as suggested by another reviewer, double check suggested uses of herbs to make certain they are safe. Pictures are in black and white and too small to be useful. Magically, none of the information at first glance is wrong, although some seems incomplete. The magic and intentions for different days of the week, for instance, leave out some large ones, or put some in places that could make sense but are often placed elsewhere. No citations for anything, so you can't compare with other sources, or know what tradition she is writing about. There is more than just herbs and oils here; but all the information is so surface, and lacks professional polish (like an index), that you do best to save your money and look into a more professional and established source. Nothing overtly Wiccan about the information, either; not a problem for me (I'm pagan, but not Wiccan), but those looking for information as it applies to Wicca won't find much here.Product details

Wicca Herbs and Oils A beginner guide to working with Magical Herbs and Oils Sophie Welch 9781521243466 Books Reviews
This book gave good descriptions of herbal uses but some suggestions are dangerous. For example, Pennyroyal's suggested use is a flea/tick remedy for pets. Although it effectively poisons flea/ticks, this can seriously harm dogs and have caused death. I would suggest double checking to see if herb is too toxic for suggested use.
It great for beginners like me. Its gives great point and help with how to use the herbs and oil. And things you should watch out for.
Perfect
Very good information..
This is a great book for someone just starting out their journey in Wicca or witchcraft. Includes useful information and easy spells for beginners.
Eye loved this book. Everything is simply put and described best as Eye could have detailed them to anyone. Eye recommend everyone that is into magic , read this book.
I am not a true practitioner of Wicca. In fact, I am interested in herbs and this kind of stuff from a culinary perspective. It was also an entertaining and generally insightful thing to read. I loved the first chapters with the common information about the herbs and about how to grow the magical garden. Also, there were a few great teas mentioned at the end of the book. I've not heard about some of those. Need to try. 'Magical bath' also seems to worth trying!
